About Us
Serenity Teas LLC was founded in 2005 by Blanch and Ronnie Henry. Blanch has always had a love of tea. After being gifted a fine bone China tea set by her grandmother at birth, she knew that it was her God Given Purpose. After a short time catering afternoon teas, Blanch and her husband, Ronnie, opened their first tearoom location at 119 E. Patrick St. in Downtown Frederick, Maryland. Serenity Tearoom opened in September 2005. Business was quickly successful and it didn't take long for Serenity to become the #1 tearoom in Maryland on teamap.com. After 10 years at the 119 location, Blanch and Ronnie had a desire to expand the business and find a larger location. At this exact time their daughter, Tiera, had finished culinary school and moved back to the area with her husband, Brandon, in tow. With Tiera returning and Brandon joining the team, it was the perfect time to expand. Ronnie and Blanch's oldest daughter, Angel, had started a new career at Marriott but was always dedicated to the family business as well. A true family affair!
In September 2015 they moved to 162 W Patrick St and Serenity Tearoom and Fine Dining was born. Blanch continued to serve Traditional Afternoon Tea becoming the #2 rated tearoom in the United States on teamap.com. Chef's Brandon and Tiera were the heads of the fine dining aspect of the business and quickly made a name for themselves among the top restaurants in Downtown Frederick. As time went on Serenity became the #1 Overall Rated Restaurant in Frederick on TripAdvisor.
Together Blanch, Tiera and Brandon have been featured on The Food Network 6 times with 5 combined wins.
On November 30, 2019, Serenity Tearoom and Fine Dining closed it's doors as Blanch entered retirement. She has already spent time traveling to see her favorite "blue water", to South Carolina helping care for her mother in law, spent more time with her grandchild, Liam, enjoying taking long walks with her also retired husband and being First Lady of Hope Christian Fellowship Church, where her husband is Senior Pastor.
Tiera and Brandon are enjoying spending more time with their son and hopeful to expand their family in the near future. They have also been catering a number of personal events within the DC area.
